 The bear's bad day New

So we were sitting talking in an eddy and all of a sudden there is a big crash on the other side of the river. There is an almost verticle 100 foot cliff over there so at first we thought it was rocks falling. Then we saw the big pile of black fur and realized that it had been a bear trying to climb out of the canyon that had taken a fall and landed on the boulders. I think the trees slowed him down a bit but he still hit pretty hard. The poor guy didn't move at all for a couple of minutes and we started to think he was a goner. Finally he lifted his head up and looked around. he slowly got up and ambled down the shore. He was limping a bit but it looked like he would survive. Hopefully he makes it and learns to pick a better climbing spot.
btw, this was on a river that is within sight of downtown Vancouver B.C.
