help on your resume if Wilderness Rescue is what you are looking into.  I have a friend who is a backcountry ranger in Great Smokies NP. He might be able to provide some info as to opportunities wityh rescue. Keep in mind that a majority of rescue teams are made up of members of fire and rescue departments. You may need to work as an EMT on an ambulance first.

Anohter option is Experiential Education.  Having WEMT or WFR, is a big step towards meetings requirements to work with kids in a wilderness setting or teach with Outward Bound.
