how sad i am for your loss and Matt's family and friends loss. you went through something that every paddler dreads who paddles with friends. i take things for granted sometimes, that nothing like your story would ever happen to me and my friends. your story proves we can't ever take anything for granted. your heroic effort to save matts life must of been terrible when you realized how powerless you really were in the situation. the feeling where you can't believe this is really happening, that what if we did something else and didn't make the run. those types of thoughts are only natural. the sad fact is that for whatever reason, what happened was ment to be and it is something we can never understand. good luck in your time of grief to you and everyone who knew Matt!
