Two years ago, I spent a weekend with Dan and the S.D. company on Cross Mountain. His unassuming nature humbled my friends and I.  I remember sharing stories on the shuttle, and diner that night (non-vegetarian...). (Dan signed the creeker.) I had always thought I'd run into him again.
