note the kayaker was hopelessly stuffed under Tombstone rock -- and the rescuer deserves a medal New

Our group arrived at the scene just as the kayaker was being pulled out of his boat from underneath Tombstone.  A witness said that he had been under the water "for a long time."  The rescuers on the rock pulled the guy completely out of his spray skirt and his shorts.  Once the victim was safe on the rock, it took a group of 7 of us to pull the boat out.  That boat was completely underwater and stuck.  Even with 7 guys on the rope, it didn't budge.  Then all of the sudden, it just shot up from under the rock.  We were just about ready to start setting up a Z-drag.

From what I observed, that guy wouldn't have made it without a hands-on rescue.  The rescuer deserves a pat on the back for his quick response.

I am wondering what the kayaker was doing over there by Tombstone and whether he had a qualified guide to show him the lines.
