The big rock on river right at the end of Diagonal Ledges is a dangerous undercut. Few people know it is there and few that paddle there as beginners, have the river reading skills to understand that is what it is when they are near it.  
I have helped pull several boats out of this undercut and gotten in between many swimmers and the rock to keep them away from it.
  It really is a sad thing but I must say I am surprised it hasn't gotten someone before now. The slightly higher water conceals it even more now, but there still isn't an up stream pile on it---sure sign of an undercut.
  There is plenty of poision oak to get into also when you do rescues there--just as a warning....
