In Webster City, on the Boone River upstream of Town, I saw an older, broken down low overhead dam that looked like it would be fun.  I would be cautious, but it looked good at the water level I saw it at a couple of years ago.  Higher than a 1,000 cfs but since there aren't lots of choices, scout it at different levels.  To check out the Boone river levels, goto the USGS site (www.usgs.gov) and look for surface water map in Iowa.  Look for the Boone river station.  Should be easy to find.

Another spot David Weber was telling me about was behind the Briggs Wood golf course in high run-off.  He sent me a link from the AWA site that showed an awesome drop, for Iowa.  Keep an eye out for his name on some postings.

Good luck,
Mike
