I have and did vote for several Republicans during this election. Why? Because the ones in my area best represent my interest and the interest of my community/area. Do I vote for Democrats also? Yes, when I feel they are the best qualified
and support my interest.

At one time the Democrats could point at the Republicans as the party supported by the special interest groups. Well, that isn't true anymore. One can look at the DNC and find it
heavily influenced by Unions, trial lawyers, radical feminist groups, gay rights, etc. Sorry, none of these groups represent me, and it seems that most of the country feels that way. Hell, you can't even claim that the corporations done support the Democrats, just go back and look at the donations in the past Presidential Elections from the likes of Enron and World Com.

But maybe the biggest reason is that many of us are just sick of the elitist attitude that screams, as you are, that if I don't agree with you that I must be ignorant or evil. Grow up, the sky isn't falling. The Republicans that are in office right now may not be liberals, but they are a pretty moderate lot on the whole.
