My kayak( a riot dom) encountered a sharp rock wich caused a gouge on the outside and a small ridge to show on the inside of the kayak where the plastic has discoulered to a lighter/almost white shade(was yellow..)  The plastic is still full thickness or close in this area as it had shaved some of the spin disc pattern off the bottom of the boat but not much if any of the plastic deeper than that.
The plastic seems white because it got streched or pushed past its limit. This  now seems to be an area of structural weakness on the hull of the kayak.  The area is right beside the front pillar.  What should I do( if anything)? My concern is if I get another hit on this spot it will crack/break. The plastic is still thick enough in this area just overstressed/streched in a very limited area,  a line/ridge a little over a 1/4 inch wide by 2.5 to 3 inches long where it has turned lighter towards white. Will the plastic (zyteck) settle/unstress itself if I heat it?  Hot water?  Other form of heat?  Other ideas?  Experiences?
Thanks
Ross
