Some lessons:

Wear appropriate safety gear (such as a helmet).

Paddle within your ability, and scout unknown/unseen drops.

Never paddle alone!!!

Hope this doesn't sound too harsh, but there comes a point where you just gotta say something.  Beginners don't know these rules (or don't realise they are serious)--it's up to US (the experienced paddling community) to teach them.
