I was very sad to read on our local MWA whitewater message board the following:

Ed Mohn of Henderson, Kentucky was killed Saturday in an accident on Sweetwater Creek (Upper Tellico). Ed swam out of his kayak, was swept into a strainer, and was held under the water by the strainer.

Ed was a big guy.  He drove a motor home and was seen pretty regularly on the Ocoee during the summer months. I believe he was an anesthesiologist.

I knew and paddled with Ed on several occasions on the Ocoee. Ed was a great guy and fun to be around. Although I have not seen Ed in over a year, I do remember him and will miss him, my condolences to his family.
