maybe some of the people that are blowing off the "leash is a bad idea" haven't seen enough bad things in the river or they haven't spent enough time out of their boats swimming in whitewater to really know.

why are people told over and over NOT to stand up while swimming?  why do we tell people to swim on their backs and keep their feet UP?

use 'em in the ocean... but not on a river.
