I didn't get to meet you while I was in Colorado a few weeks ago but I wanted to send thoughts your way and share some of the good times your fiance and I had during this incredibly hard time. I met him in Maryland on the Upper Yough a few years ago and we stayed in touch. He emailed me before we both drove out to Colorado last month and wanted to meet up for some boating since we would both be there early in the season and neither of us knew many locals. His personality and enthusiasm about getting on new rivers struck me and I was stoked to paddle with him. At the beginning of my trip, I didn't know your fiance well but I got to know him better each day we paddled the creeks of the Boulder area. He talked about you all the time and was super excited about Medical School and moving to Colorado. 

The day he arrived in Boulder we headed up to Eldorado Canyon and scouted our way down. It was just the two of us in that amazing gorge but as often happens with a small group like ours, that day was one of the best days I've ever had boating. Paddling new whitewater in a new place with a buddy is always memorable and mine and your fiance's day on Eldorado Canyon a few weeks ago will always be my first memory of him.

Seems like yesterday we were floating downstream having a great time. I can't believe he's gone. We shot some film in Eldorado Canyon. It's not much and nothing I can give can fill the void you're experiencing right now but if you'd like a copy of the footage we shot on DVD to remember good times with him, please email me and I'll try to get one to you.
