Xytec is amazing stuff, but it is still just plastic, and it can still be broken.
I say that all the time. Xytec IS better than most plastics out there for wear, impact, shape retention, but I have always said that regardless of being better, it is still subject to the same basic laws and flaws of any plastic. If you choose to omit 3/4 of the paragraph... that's not my accountability but yours ;-)
So, yes some companies hype theri palstic. Co-ex is rad stuff, as is Xytec. We both know our plstic to be surperior. We can thus say thjings like you're edges will stay sharp longer... but we never say things like "forever".
Performance will be retained for longer... but even our warranty card and booklets in teh kayaks state that you have to look after it.
In Daggers case, they believe thier plastic to be good, as does anyone else. They hype it less perhaps because the believe in it less, or whatever their reasons are, but whether your material is Co-ex, Superlinear, Xytec or crosslink, it is JUST PLASTIC, AND SUBJECT TO THE PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS OF THAT TYPE OF MATERIAL.
