Oops... that was 60lbs not 40lbs New

Corran
I have a 40lbs bike which is what I was thinking about while I was typing, and would not ride a 60lbs bike for anything...

But my point was, whether you buya  40lbs or 60 lbs bike, if you break it... its YOUR problem, not the manufacturers problem. Knowing this, most bikers ride 40-50lbs bikes (full suspension has certainly added 10lbs to bikes.. but it was a performance gain to be weighed against the performance loss of extral lbs... and came out worth it).

And like kayaks, even the heavy ones CAN break... but with the exception of people why buy at Wallmart, MOST mountain bikers would never buy a 60lbs bike, for the same reason a surfer would not buya  20lbs board...
