No kayak, from ANY manufacturer, is warrantied against impact on rocks period!!!

A warranty is a guarantee that the kayak was properly molded, assembled etc. It is NOT a replacement from impact, whether its Dagger, WS, Riot, Liquid Logic or whomever.

Lets take Mountain Biking. They're designed to be used on mountains on trails with rocks etc. Falls, and impacts are inevitable. But, if you fall, and break your bike, its SOL. YOU BROKE IT. It didn't fail due to faulty manufacturing.

Now lets look at Surfing. You buy a 5lbs board. You wipe out, it hits bottom and breaks. SOL chap. YOU BROKE YOUR BOARD.

kayaking is about the only sport in the world, where the participants are under some insane delusion that not only should the product be industructable, over all other considerations such as performance etc, but also immediately replaceable if they break. Its also a silly, and unfortunate thing.

In surfing, if they made their boards weigh 20lbs, they would be unbreakable, but no surfer in the world wants a 20lbs unbreakable board at the cost of performance. If mountain bikes weighted 40lbs they too would be unbreakable, but no mountain biker worth his salt would tolerate such a tub of a titanic of a bike no matter how strong it was.

yet kayakers, for some unknown reason, have this daft and unfortunate idea that performance should always be second to impact and industructability.

I paddle a 19lbs Tekno. We could actually make them too and sell them like this, if kayakers weren't of the type to go out and hit rocks. Don't tell me the "my river has rocks routine. Where i mountain bike has rocks. Where my friends board surf has a reef 2 feet below the surface. If either falls, their equipment is shot. But what you get in return... AAaahhhh!!!

One day, before I die, hopefully kayakers will grow up, and wise up. In the meantime, they badger this manufacturer and that manufacturer about "my boat broke when I slammed into some rock carthweeling".

NO MANUFACTURER COVER THIS. And rightly too. if you know someone that was LUCKY enough to have had a situation like this, and it was replaced, they were very very lucky, and should realize this... it probably will never happen again.

Some manufacturers use plastics that are better than others at the base level. But NO manufacturers replace a boat that broke because of impact resulting in the plastic breaking. Not Dagger, Not WaveSport, Not Prijon, Nor Liquid Logic, Not Pyranha and Not Perception. Not even Riot.

Look after your boat. If you hit rocks, expect it to eventually break, even if its made from titanium. Stop hitting rocks, and see what we can bring you in performance.
