known that what he was about to do was not within the normal parameter set of accepatable conditions. We as RESPONSIBLE members of the paddling community need to think about how such an action could adversely affect others: boaters, rescue squad members, AND OUR FAMILIES AND LOVED ONES. Maybe he had something going on that had him upset and not thinking straight. Maybe you could have talked him out of it. Maybe not. Now you have to deal with something that will stay with you for a long long time. Just remember that he did that to you and not vice versa.
