I didn't want to post either - figured everyone would laugh.

We currently have 2. My husband drives the automatic for his 100+ commute. Gas milage isn't as good on the automatics.

I drive the stick around town and it is our "trip/boating car". I bought it for $1500 to use on a trip out west.

I drove it 8500 miles across country this summer. Only problems I had were a flat tire and some minor overheating problems - which were solved by running the heat. The best part is I only spent $1300 on gas. Not bad. I had 4 people for aboutt 6K of the trip all out through SD, WY,UT, CO,AZ and then there were just 2 of us driving home. The car now has 144K on it and it is still going strong.

We have very long Yakima racks on it and routinely load it with 3 - 4 people and 4 boats or with a Rocket box and 3 boats.
