	professionally and eloquently stated.  The greatest travesty in this matter, trumping even the ban on whitewater boating, is the "appalling" waste of taxpayer money.  This ongoing fight over an issue with no legitimately defendable position and no precedent in the U.S., funded with taxpayer money and administered by public servants, is truely a crime.  Perhaps there will be accountability for this in the future when the total cost of this fiasco is comes under higer scrutiny by those who had to foot the bill.    Thanks Don for your hard work.       Charles Parrish Columbus, NC
