I flip over and miss braces and rolls a lot if I switch to any paddle with a different feather angle than I'm used to.  I used to have one paddle for play at zero degree and a cheaper one for creeking abuse at 30 degrees.  I'd often flip coming into eddies, and all over the place for the first hour of paddle after I switched from one to the other.  Now I just use zero for everything.

ANYWAY,  It may have more to do with a feather angle change than the bent shaft.  Either way, give it some time and you should get used to it.
Hope that helps a bit.
Stephen
