It's been levels between 9 and 11 for the past few weeks, and I was on the water every day--good stuff for sure! Still the best play on the east coast for sure. While you won't have either Buseater or Garb to throw you into the air without working for it, you'll have tons of smaller spots all the way down the river. The play gets better as it slowly drops too--I think that 8 feet is my favorite level on the river--the main channel has EPIC goodness: 7/8 hole, waikiki, brain deuche (sweet plastic boat mystery moves and whirlpool fun), Triple Nipple (INCREDIBLE smooth, glassy wave at the top of the Norman's), The Big Kahuna, and Dog's Leg are all super-fun. At 9, you'll probably want to head down the middle for Angel's Kiss, Butterfly, Garvin's runs, Upper No-name wave, Lower No-Name waves, and consider attaining up to the Black Hole just above the confluence of the middle and main--Black Hole is one of the best holes I've ever played anywhere--it just requires an aggressive ferry to catch. Hope that helps! Stephen Wright
You can see photos of the river around those levels on the Keener Blog, which is the summer teen kayaking program that I run: http://www.okskeener.blogspot.com/
