One of the gimics of this boat was the dual plaining hull. It never really took off, but I bought into it. You lean a little to the left and the left side "planes". To the right.... same way. It helps the boat to turn better. The center ridge helps when catching eddys. It's like an edge. This was the boat of choice for Zambezi safety boaters and for the second Sang Po expedition. It won the first Green Race and has been used in that race since then....when you can find one.
Don't get stuck in one of those small, powerful, personal holes. For a long boat, it wouldn't nessessarily be considered "Hole Bait" but all long boats are hole bait. I always managed to get out of holes with it, but you have to work the boat to get it out. Hopefully it'll ender out one way or the other.
