I'm not a pro-paddler but I can contribute what worked for me.

I can't roll without a paddle shaft that is indexed (ovalled) for the lead hand. On my left side, I just think about leading the roll / control the blade angle with my lead / left hand. same for the R side: I control the blade with my lead hand so it's the same.
That and dont think about it- trust your body to do the right thing. (Same thing with the back deck roll-dont overthink it)

ps-I learned the C2C in '80 for the R and on the L I somehow do a sweep roll. There have been days when one side is better than the other and its not always the R side.
