Little White During Gorge Games 2008 New

I am happy to report that while all that controversy was happening over on the Truss, the Little White was rolling off those drops just like every other day. The only problem was finding people to boat with, since the who's who were all on the Truss.  Thankfully, my one-bladed compatriot Stumpy Joe was ready to hide from the limelight amoungst the electric blue waters of the Little White Salmon.  I was proud to call myself a kayaker as we rallied downstream through one classic rapid after another. The competition was friendly but fierce as we battled to see who could launch the sickest boof off Boulder Sluice, get the perfect stomp off Wishbone,  and catch the smallest eddy in Backender. Even though I didn't qualify on Friday, I decided to poach the course twice on Saturday with fantastic results. Luckily, there was no security presence at the put in to stop us from poaching, you would think they would restrict all access on such an important weekend.  It was truly inspiring to meet Greg Malory who, despite spending his time on land in a wheelchair, spends his time in a kayak on The Shit.  Because our laser timing system was being loaned out and nobody bothered to look at their watch, the times got all screwed up and the results were meaningless.  The only fair thing to do was declare everyone a winner, drink a beer, and feel smug about not spending $40 to maybe be on TV.  I can't wait until next year's Gorge Games.
