	you can drill the rivets out with a 3/16" bit...just don't apply constant pressure to the center of the rivet.  try going in a circular pattern kind of like a top and you'll pop the head off.  get all your rivets out and the whole shabang will slide forward.  i'll see what we can't do to get you some new hardware and brackets to replace the existing ones and if for some reason it can't be done without charging you I'll pony up and send 'em to you myself. let me know if you have any questions and shoot me your shipping address when you get a sec. brad@jacksonkayak.com
