You said you considered this option---but did you do the full sessions?
Had a car accident.  Herniated disks.  Hands falling asleep.  Earlier problems with wrists due to overuse --- 200 days a year on the water boating and 2 two-a-days workouts with an offset-carbon shaft paddle.  Never found a solution for many years of neck muscles maladapting, forearms pumping, and a car accident with the force of falling from a 5-story building.

UNTIL --- I couldn't stand it anymore because the tingling in the hands would wake me up and I couldn't sleep.  Sounds similar, maybe.

I GOT ROLFED.  10 sessions, 3 sessions completely just on my neck.  In the last session my right forearm "popped" and I felt an incredible release.
My handwriting changed that day, never changed back.  And 1 of the 2 herniations are no longer there according to the MRI.  Tingling NEVER happens when I sleep or paddle.  My forearms still get pumped and my neck gets "poppy" but no tingling!  (I still can't work high above my head for any amount of time, however.)

A Rolfer will explain it takes alot of work against the body's natural processes to STAY in pain.  I've been hit 2 more times in a car head-on and
Rolfing techniques (now self-done) have worked everytime to keep me out of pain and trouble.

My endorsement is the real thing.  I changed the offset on my paddle, paddle (albeit less) and sleep like a baby w/ no concerns of being awakened by pain!   www.getrolfing.com
