They saw the cracks and could see that there was no sign of a big impact or something to cause it, and swapped it out.  I could have been the third owner for all they knew.  I honestly don't even remember where I bought the first one from, but I think the first swap out was at the same place I bought it.  This second swap out today was at a totally different place (because it was close to where I was) and they asked who swapped it out before and I told them.  This is a WaveSport issue, not a dealer issue, so it should not matter where you bought it or if you are the second owner.  Like if a car has a recall and you bought it used, you still get the recall fix for free.

This crack was about 4 inches long across the front.  It was a 606 serial number.  I can tell you that my new one is much sturdier around the cockpit rim and is an 808 number.   My Habitat is a 607 number, but it also is much sturdier around the rim.

I have owned Jacksons, WS, and Pyrahnnas.  So far I have only had to warrantee on the WS but it has worked out.  If anything similar happens to the others, I would hold them to the same standard, but my All Star is pretty new.

If the rim truly is cracked, and the dealer gives you a hard time, either take it to a different dealer or go to doubleyouess.com to get some advice from people there.

Good Luck!
