Get on alabamawhitewater.com.  It's one of the best kayaking websites in the country.  It has basically every run in Alabama and a very active forum.  I moved to Montgomery 4 years ago and it's how I met all my new paddling friends.  I don't think there's much near Mobile, but you may be able to hook up w/ someone to share the drive up to Montgomery for Tallapoosa or Coosa action.  Good luck.
