A group of us from Portland are going there from May 2nd - 11th.  Me and four of my friends are bringing our gear and renting a car, but there's another group of about 7 more people from portland going through Gene17.  From what I hear if you email simon (the guy who runs gene17) he can either rent you a boat or point you in the right direction.  Hope this helps!
