Nowhere else compares for 365 days per year of quality boating within 15 minutes of DC on the Potomac. There are also TONS of epic runs within day-trip distance--lots in WV, PA, VA, and MD.  

I learned to boat on the Potomac and loved the playboating, running great falls, and paddling tons of Mid Atlantic runs.  I never liked the traffic, pace of life, or wealth in the area very much, but the paddling is SWEET!!!!
