why don't whitewater helmets use chin straps? New

with the latest trend towards full coverage helmets i was wondering why none of the companies seem to want to go back to the chin strap models that football players use today. i know talking would be restricted but it seems like it would be the best way to really secure a helmet. anyone have any ideas as to why this doesn't happen.?
