PROVO
RIVER - POGO HOLE RETURNS:
Yesterday, crews began work on the Salt Lake Aqueduct that draws water from
the Provo river just North East of Bridal Veil Falls. Consequently, the water
being released from Deer Creek Reservoir which is usually diverted into the
aqueduct was being dumped into the river, allowing Pogo hole to make an early
appearance this season. To get to the hole, you drive to Provo following the
recreational area signs that indicate Provo Canyon - North East toward Deer
Creek reservoir. Just NE of Bridal Veil Falls you will see a road off to the
right (coming from Provo) and a recreational area sign that has a raft on it.
Head down toward the river and drive till you come to a gate. Walk about 500
yards down the road and you should be able to see it through the trees. City
crews are currently limbing and removing trees along the road as of 2 hours ago.
The levels right now are slow, and it definitely favors left side ends. The
Booster was preferable to the Dom 47 which was just a little bit less retentive
at this level. Something like the Disco would probably work really well right
now. Unfortunately, by the time I got the camera out, Ken was pretty much done,
and I was really done, so these aren't the best rides we had today.
