I taught skiing for and ran bmx races for him for ski passes in high school. He was one of the old time early paddlers. Great guy, great skier and paddler. He was really cool to me, an upstart newbie who he took under his wing. Hell, he gave me two boats (a NPK and a SRB) to use for my first summer of paddling until I could afford to buy that first Lettman.
Sadly he took his life shortly after that time. He was and still is missed by a lot of people.
