I can't imagine it being very easy.

Was his boat/paddle recovered?  Could he have missed his roll due to gear failure?  If memory serves me, Doug Gordon missed his roll because of a busted thigh brace.

I am curious as well to what direction they tried to rope his body off the log from.  Where they trying to pull him back up stream or lift up/over the log?
