Thank you so much for writing what I'm sure was a very hard post to write.  I fully understand the raw emotions a boating tragedy brings to fellow paddlers and loved ones.  I commend you for finding an appropriate time to discuss the tragedy (knowing that it is much easier not to) and also for your excellent detail including photos with additional markings.  I hope that your post spurs a good safety discussion and  also some serious internal thoughts by all boaters about the consequences of their decisions on the river.  All boaters should have a keen interest in learning from such tragic situations.

I am sure Paul was proud to have you as a friend and padding partner.
