the weekend. This is obviously a local preference vs. a non-local preference difference. There will of course be different priorities between different user groups. What about paddlers who live mainstream lives with wives, kids, and jobs to support them. Their voice, my voice, does not seem to be represented. That's my point, and I'm open/looking for ways to get alternate views considered. I was unable to attend as I am in California right now, but I also thought it was supposed to be an inittial planning/strategy session rather than the final paddler say into the matter as it has been protrayed above. I'm personally not in favor of months ahead of time scheduled realeases and randomly occuring w/e relaeses would suit me just fine as long as they were announced on Friday, but that's a solution that solves my personal neeeds. However, what solves yours needs vs. my needs vs. someone elses needs may not be the same and I don't feel a wide enough segmented of the boater population has been reflected in the process so far. Hopefully a reasonable method to reflect alternate views can be worked out. An alternate lobbying group would be my last choice, but something has to be done. The current track as represented in the posts above can't be allowed to stand unchallenged. If you feel that situation is different than it has been portrayed I would be glad to hear about it. |
