This isn't a bunch of "locals" trying to keep people off the green. I love seeing new people on the green. When it gets to be a clusterfuck like it was last weekend, though, it gets dangerous. 15 people waiting to run pencil sharpener, 5 people in the notch eddy, and 8 people wanting to seal launch is rediculous. That is why a scheduled release would be a bad idea, in my opinion. The green is NOT the tallulah, cheoah, or the ocoee. AW is the reason we have releases on these runs, and we are gratefull for all of their work. AW didn't work for access on the green, however, and Woody bailed us out. Now we (key holders) are paying the rent for the put-in. It is a less than ideal situation for sure, and i'm sorry if I come off as one of those "locals" trying to keep people off of the green, but if we lose access to the green, then the local people suffer much more than those who come and run it 2 or 3 times a year. |
