note I wonder how many "Green locals" enjoy paddling scheduled runs like Tallulah, Cheoah, etc? New

I can understand the concerns about the Green getting too busy, but it seems like a double standard if those boaters who want to keep the Green "local" still paddle other scheduled runs in other states when the Green doesn't go. I sure have seen alot of them on "MY" local runs.

Also, there have been non-local groups and paddlers that have helped keep access open on the Green so it's not a completely local issue. And to consider both sides, it seems like the locals have bungled the access issue on more than one occassion by doing things like tearing the gate down, parking in restricted areas, etc. Not trying to slam any one, but before you start villifying "non-local" paddlers, take a look at the big picture.

Maybe the best approach would be to have a few scheduled releases at a time of year not likely to cause too much impact, and have the rest of the releases determined daily or the nght before. Seems like a reasonable compromise.
