but is still in one of, literally, the top, high end, whitewater kayaking rivers in the world, right? Where else can you kayak over 200 days a year on this caliber of whitewater and for the most part, warm? And we want to jeopardize by opening this box, why? Last I am pretty sure most dam release rivers that are kayaked on happened because; 1. Negotiation with power companies (TVA/NYSEG, etc) initiated by recreational users because there was zero water being put in. 2. Existing release levels were not advantageous for recreation and a group rallied to get them. 3. By chance or divine intervention (just like the current situation)the releases happen to be great levels and often, in other words as close to perfect class IV/V as exists, on a an already dependable AND continuing basis.
Sorry, but for someone like me (who is only a new local), that can't chase water wherever the best levels are, in the world or country at the drop of a hat, It is that good.
