I guess to each his own, but don't quite a few folks try to avoid crowded whitewater especially crowded IV-V water?  The Gauley and Cheoah are great, but they also handle crowds much bettter than the Green would.

The more crowded the Green gets the more sketchy things happen (on and off the river) not to mention having a significant impact on the delicate nature of access to the run.  I'm not for shutting out folks who are not local, but how many hardboaters out there will get excited about 60% scheduled releases?

I guess the real question is who will be the primary benefactor of these changes (what is the motivation) and what (if any) will be the consequences to those who do not stand to benefit be?

I hope when it gets political, (and I'm sure it will) that the whitewater community has someone good representing us.
