Think money/interests/etc.

If my posts would end up in a magazine, especially one that is commercial, and doing so without asking beforehand if that is okay, you bet that I would take action!

When they make money out of something that I wrote, even if it is only my opinion, and they do so without consent, that's illegal. Besides, I'm not sure that I would want my name associated with such a magazine in the first place... they have no right to just assume that I would.

(I've had my picture in the AW magazine, and saw my name mentioned in it as well, but that was after I was asked/told about that *before* it happened, and I don't mind supporting that organization)

I've found one of my trip reports on another paddling related website, with someone else's name (who unknowingly to me edited the post and gave it to the site as his own), and took action to rectify the problem.

They should realise that it's not just rude to take copyrighted material without asking, it's also illegal.
