My sons and I have run that slot after the rootball was gone.  It is sketchy, not that fun and not recommended.

The commercial rafts call it Magnetic Rock, because if you put in and do nothing in the raft, the raft will go to it. I talked to a ranger and the customer was in a hospital in stable condition.

I know nothing about the kayaker in Initiation, but WTF was he surfing there for.  Was it ignorance of the dangers or plain stupidity? It is hard to understand?

Saw a two man Puma flip above Initiation and all went right.  The "rider" ended up on a rock on the right and clueless.  I went right and eddied out.  The guy said it was fun and he wanted to swim down to the Puma.  I told him to swim directly to shore and walk.  He did not want to listen to me and asked his "guide"  if he should swim.  His guide told him to go to shore, prbably because the ranger was right there.

My son was upset with me because I risked doing a last second ferry accross Initiation to help some one who was clueless.  After the guy ignoring my strongly pointed directions, I realize my son was right.  The guy was a moron and I cannot cure that problem.
