Unfortunetly....

Too often those remember the past are condemned to repeat it anyway, 'cause that's where the rest of the world is heading with or without 'em.

(When did I become so cynical?)

No fan of TV either. My wife uses it to wind down, veterinary practice has her thinking enough for one day usually. (She reads at the breakfast table.) The shows that get turned on though are simple affairs, Buffy is really funny, not preachy, and as far as I'm concerned is the best use for television....slapstick! She changes the channel if Survivor or that island thing even has a commercial, as would I. (I often sit with her, but have a book, since there are few television shows capable of holding my full attention.)

Personally I'm getting fed up with the Discovery channel. Last night there was a special on the Blue Fin Tuna, a truly remarkable fish. The show was produced as though the National Enquirer had gotten into TV. We don't need built up drama and suspense in everything we see.....the main reason I hate that damn millionaire show (I have never watched more than 2 or 3 minutes of it, and only a few times) is how fake it all is. Answer the damn question, turn off that stupid music, and yes, that is his final answer. Jeeeez. (Alex Trebek has more class than Regis could amass in ten lifetimes.) Do TV producers really think their audience is that simpleminded? Or are they just producing shows for themselves.
