I'm 200 lbs and paddle a nomad 8.5.  The small boat would be to small in my opinion.  You also want to be able to carry some gear in the boat and not have it be too weighed down.  8.5 hands down.  

While the 8.5 does look big when you see it, once you get in it, it fits well, paddles great and can make all the moves you need to make.
