You can see what you need to from above at both rapids at current flows. I've never scouted either one. I do get out and look if I can't see my way to safety or I want to take a look, set a rope, show a first timer something or whatever. If someone wants to scout that's cool with me. Sometimes it does break a rhythm but I deal with it.
