That's a great explanation. I can see where the edge, combined with a flat bottom, might better catch that current. Your ski carving analogy is perfect since today's skiis are shaped exactly the opposite of a kayak hull. Skiis are wider at the ends and narrow in the middle and when put on edge initiate the turn. Given no currents a kayak put on edge turns the opposite way. Thanks again.
