There are so many people on here who are either too young to remember a time before there were drysuits, or who just have no awareness or recollection of the roots (history) of the sport. People boated for decades before drysuits and high-tech fabrics were available. They used wetsuits and wool, and the vast vast vast majority of them survived just fine! So, yes a drysuit is without a doubt the best. Drytop and drypants/bibs probably a reasonable second best. But I am amazed at how many people on here think so little of the wetsuits which the vast majority of our predecessors used for decades with fine results.
