I am brand new to this sport/hobby. I've got my boat, paddle, PFD, helmet, & skirt on order! Hopefully Diamond Brand near Ashville will have it all in either this week or next! Now i'm tring to decide what is the best clothing/wear to paddle in during the cold months since i'm not really wanting to wait til May when it warms up to start paddling. I've done a lot of research on dry tops vs dry suits vs wet suits. It looks like a thick(5mm) wet suit is gonna be the way to go to keep costs down vs a dry suit. And I'm thinking just a dry top wouldn't be good for me since i'm sure i'll be out of the boat more then a handful of times while tring to learn. What do you guys wear and what do you suggest for a newbie just getting into WW kayaking to wear on cold days?
