When I do a fast run while not pushing very hard - catching a few eddies, keeping it all comfortable and not getting winded - it winds up being in the 6-7 minute range.

No eddies but not pushing hard is in the 5.5-6 minute range. Anything under 5.5 minutes and you have to be paddling hard through the pools, etc.
