When looking at boaters from the Lexington area, more injuries have happen at low water. If this wasnt a public forum, i would list them. In your defense, low water brings a perception of easier and safer, and inherently attracts novice boaters.

I also know of some blunders at the box, people trying to squeeze thru, when they should walk. resulting in pins, and running main line climax backwards and even swimming mainline. In my opinion, i like water to pad out the sieves, and undercuts.

At any rate we could argue easy or hard and which level is safest all day. But russell fork at 400 equates to the gauley at 1200. It is definitely fun, but not "THE" level.

Not saying your wrong or right, it is all relative to what you want/like. I love talking levels on this river. What is the perfect level? Opinions will vary.
